By acting as a subunit of the ribosome, it allows the more complex molecule to carry out protein synthesis. RNA binding proteins assist in splicing, stabilization, and translation of strings of RNA into proteins. To do this, it binds to IF-3, which is a part of the promoter that gets translation going.
